A Community Space with Award-Winning Design
The Open: East Village Public Washroom & Pickleball Court has quickly become a celebrated hub in the community—not only for its recreational value but also for its thoughtful approach to design and sustainability. Recognized with awards for both function and aesthetic, the facility demonstrates how public amenities can be inviting, durable, and environmentally responsible.
Sloan AER-DEC Integrated Sink System
At the heart of this project is the installation of Sloan’s AER-DEC integrated sink system, featured in a standalone solid-surface vanity. The AER-DEC combines EFX-style touch-free faucets, high-efficiency hand dryers, and matching soap dispensers into a single sleek basin. This all-in-one solution creates a modern and streamlined handwashing experience, reducing clutter while ensuring hygienic, touchless operation.
Designed for Public Use
The compact layout and highly visible design of the facility highlight two key goals: ease of maintenance and long-term durability. With Sloan’s integrated system, water stays within the basin, reducing mess and keeping the space cleaner. Touchless technology minimizes wear and supports energy and water efficiency—crucial considerations for high-traffic public washrooms.
Why It Matters
By choosing Sloan’s AER-DEC, East Village has created a restroom that reflects the values of sustainability, community health, and modern design. Paired with the vibrant pickleball courts, this project demonstrates how even essential infrastructure can enrich community spaces while setting a standard for efficiency and user-friendly design.
