Metrotown Station – Vancouver, BC

A brand-new public washroom has opened at Metrotown Station, one of the busiest transit hubs in Metro Vancouver. Serving more than 25,000 boardings on a typical weekday, Metrotown is the second busiest SkyTrain station in the region—second only to Waterfront Station.

This new facility is part of TransLink’s Customer Experience Action Plan, created in direct response to rider feedback calling for improved amenities and more accessible washrooms across the transit network. The addition at Metrotown marks an important step in enhancing comfort, hygiene, and convenience for everyday commuters.

Design and Experience

The washroom features bright, colourful artwork by Vancouver artist Sandeep Johal, whose design adds warmth and a local touch to the space. The integration of art not only creates a more welcoming environment but also helps reduce vandalism and maintenance costs—reflecting TransLink’s commitment to thoughtful, community-driven design.

Product Spotlight

To ensure durability and ease of maintenance in a high-traffic environment, the Metrotown facility features:

  • Sloan EBF-650 Touchless Faucets – sensor-activated for hands-free operation and water efficiency.

  • Sloan Royal 111 ESS Flush Valves – reliable, touch-free performance built for continuous use.

Looking Ahead

TransLink continues to expand public washroom access across the system, with future facilities planned for Phibbs Exchange, Commercial–Broadway Station, and Scott Road Station. Each location will bring the same focus on accessibility, design, and user experience.
